✅ Research

To create a great set that’s really going to have a positive impact on your video, research is key! Look online and create a mood board with images of real life situations to inspire you.

✅ Create A List

Create a list of everything that you need for your set & production. To do this you can read through the script line by line and note down all the props and specific items that are mentioned.

✅ Finding Stuff

After writing your list of items you need for your set you will have to do some research in to where you can find them for the best price. We sourced a lot of our props from a family member but also from second hand shops and local stores, as well as online.

✅ Lighting

It’s really important that you light the set well because you want it to look realistic as well as it looking good on camera. Practical lighting is very important as well as it will make the background look more appealing and it will light the set even more.

✅ Health & Safety

Always make sure your set is safe (otherwise Josh will find you). Tape wires down, make sure the entrance and exit to the set are clearly labelled and make sure your lights and electrical items are all  plugged in safely.
